A Doorway to… #FlashFiction Writing Challenge
It’s Back! Yes, after a short hiatus I’ve decided to bring back my ‘Doorway to…’ Flash Fiction challenge. Inspired by one of my Pinterest boards, this challenge is based on the following theme:
‘Doorway to…’
“The door you are afraid to enter might lead you to the most beautiful and magical places.”
Using one of the images below as inspiration, write a 200-word flash fiction story about what lies beyond the door. Who will you find and where will the doorway lead you? Any genre is acceptable. NB: As I write for a teen audience, please be aware that under 18’s frequent my blog.

I’ll add more doors next Friday.
Have fun x
As I neared the entrance to the door, I could smell the sweet scent of the perfectly blooming roses. What lay hid behind that door would change my life forever. I took a deep breath and pushed open the door. The bottom of the door scraped across the ground shrilly and the smell of stale air hit me immediately. I was filled with sheer joy that I had finally found it. The room was dimly lit although I could just make out a box sat atop a long table. I wondered how long it had been there waiting exactly? As long as me perhaps? Through the faint stream of light entering the darkened room I made my way over to the table. My heart was beating loudly and my mouth was dry. I could now see the box was made of dark wood and intricately carved, my fingers shook as I reached out to lift the lid. It creaked as it lifted, I gulped, I could see it! The years I had been searching! There, alone, laid at the bottom of the box was the scroll. I began to cry, hot, silent tears. The relief flooded through me.
