How I Motivated Myself to Succeed is now available in #Audio #SelfHelp #loveaudioQUEST @WholeStoryAudio

January 2018I recently ran a Vision Board Workshop at a local venue for a fabulous group of ladies who had a great time embracing the vision of their year ahead and creating a board to represent what they want to be, do, and have this year.

Motivating people to get going is something I’m passionate about. I ran my holistic health spa for seven years and took the time to listen to my clients; women who had big dreams but lacked the motivation and inspiration to put them into action.

When I published my first book, How I Changed My Life in a Year, it was to share my year-long challenge in the hope I could encourage people to make changes in their own life. It worked, and I still receive messages from women across the globe who loved that book.

In 2017 I released a sequel-that’s-not-a-sequel, How I Motivated Myself to Succeed. It was a way of putting all the pieces together and showing the world how I managed to persist in my quest and accomplish fifty-two challenges in twelve months. It’s a personal look at the planning, organising, and top tips I use daily to survive a busy life as a writer, single mum of three, and business owner.

So many people have told me they wish I could perch on their shoulder and whisper motivational affirmations to them. Well, that’s become a reality. How I Motivated Myself to Succeed is now available in audio. You can download the book and get an earful of motivation anytime you need it. Bonus: it’s not my voice with the Brummie accent you’ll have to listen to. Instead, you get to be soothed and inspired by actress, Lara J West who has narrated both this book and How I Changed My Life in a Year.

Here’s what people have been saying about How I Motivated Myself to Succeed.

‘After reading this book, I took a step back and really assessed not just my day-to-day routines but longer planning. I definitely needed to plan my hobby around my life not my life around my hobby. I loved the idea of the lists. There was so much that I really wanted to do and now that has changed into there are so many things that I am going to do. It has put a spring in my step and given me a much-needed energy boost.
Shelley Wilson talks openly about her own life and the changes she has made herself. She shares the successes and the failures and how to make them positive outcomes. It is a down to earth and practical book for the ordinary everyday woman to adjust to her own personal needs to. There are no set rules just ideas and suggestions that can be a template to work from.’
Susan Hampson from Books from Dusk till Dawn.

‘Whereas How I changed my Life in a Year was written as a memoir type self-help book rather than an instruction manual How I Motivated Myself to Succeed is the practical guide which tells you how this author took on, and conquered, her 12 months of challenges.

Following reading her first book I had tackled one particular problem area in my life but having now read the follow up, I’ve realised that I was lacking focus with what I was attempting. This book has shown me how to set a goal and go about achieving what I set out to do, and I feel much more in control, now that I know where I am headed. I shall definitely be applying this to other challenges I want to set myself.’  Author, Georgia Rose

‘As someone who has been disabled with health problems, I accept that I am not going to set a goal to storm the workplace and become a tycoon as my body physically will not allow this. But Shelley’s frank discussion about organisation, self-care and changing habits can be easily utilised by someone like me to both make the best of my situation, and to realise that I can still achieve something and flourish. I love her section on decluttering – this covers both mind, surroundings (in my case home) and social media. She writes about decluttering your Facebook & Twitter….it would never have occurred to me.’ Claire Saul from Pain Pals Blog

  1. This is fantastic news! I recently read your book and I found many of the tips to be extremely helpful in getting me out of my ever-present slump of apathy. It’s heartwarming to hear that you still receive thank you messages for your first book, and rightly so!
Also, the Brummie accent isn’t so bad! 😉 Massive congratulations and I can’t wait to see what you’ll be doing next.
