Title: My Fault (Book 1 of the Culpable Series)
Author: Mercedes Ron
My Rating: 5 stars

My Review:
I’m a big fan of authors whose books begin on Wattpad and skyrocket to success! Mercedes Ron’s My Fault is a great example. My Fault is the first in the Culpable trilogy, a fast-paced enemies-to-lovers YA romance. I couldn’t put it down! I’m a sucker for an enemies-to-lovers trope so this book hooked me in.
The books have also been turned into films, with My Fault and Your Fault already available on Prime. Mercedes is a Spanish author, so the films are in Spanish and dubbed in English. Earlier this year, they released a My Fault London version (I prefer the original Spanish version!).
So, what’s the story? We’re introduced to seventeen-year-old Noah Morgan, whose life is upended when her mum marries a billionaire and moves them from peaceful Toronto to the chaos of LA. She’s thrown into a world of illegal street races and secrets. Her new stepbrother Nick is the walking definition of trouble (and a hottie, obvs!).
Nick and Noah’s chemistry is brilliant. It’s volatile, addictive, and forbidden. The tension crackles on every page, with dual POVs that offer just enough insight to keep you desperate for more. But what truly sets this story apart is how the author blends trauma, love, and danger into a story that feels both indulgent and emotionally raw.
Not only did this begin as a Wattpad success, but it’s also a firm favourite with the BookTok community. While I adore the My Fault film adaptation, the book delves so much deeper into the characters’ inner struggles and backstories. And now, with the third film instalment on the way, I’m fully hooked on this guilty pleasure series that’s not-so-guilty anymore.
Angsty and addictive! My Fault is everything I want in a YA romance. If you enjoy the After series, then you’ll love this.
Book Blurb:
Fast-paced and sizzling with a forbidden enemies-to-lovers romance, My Fault is the first book in Mercedes Ron’s Culpable trilogy. This suspenseful YA series untangles the threads of love, trauma, and secrets, perfect for fans of Ugly Love and After.
Seventeen-year-old Noah Morgan loves her quiet, normal life in Toronto. But when her mother returns from a cruise unexpectedly married to a billionaire and announces they are moving to L.A., Noah is suddenly shoved out of her comfort zone and into a glittering world of illegal street races, lavish pool parties, and spoiled rich kids.
And her new stepbrother Nicholas is the most spoiled of them all. Arrogant, aloof, and viciously attractive, Nick is everything she hates, especially when she learns his bad boy persona isn’t just a façade. She’s spent her life running from danger, and Nick is danger incarnate. Yet neither of them can prevent the powerful attraction that flares between them—enough to turn their worlds upside-down and tempt them beyond all reason.
But Noah’s past may be even more dangerous than their forbidden romance. And if he wants her, Nick will have to decide if he’s willing to risk everything.
