Friday Book Share
With the weekend approaching it’s the perfect time to seek out new books to read, so I’ve created a Friday Book Share game to help search for that ideal read.
Anyone can have a go – all you need to do is answer the following questions based on a book you are currently reading/finished reading and use the hashtag #FridayBookShare
First line of the book.
Recruit fans by adding the book blurb.
Introduce the main character using only three words.
Delightful design (add the cover image of the book).
Audience appeal (who would enjoy reading this book?)
Your favourite line/scene.
Here’s mine:
I’m 20% through Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
First line – Shadow Market nights were Kit’s favourite. They were the nights he was allowed to leave the house and help his father at the booth.
Recruit fans by adding the book blurb –
The Shadowhunters of Los Angeles star in the first novel in Cassandra Clare’s newest series, The Dark Artifices, a sequel to the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series. Lady Midnight is a Shadowhunters novel.
It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses.
Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions…
Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark-who was captured by the faeries five years ago-has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind-and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?
Introduce the main character – Shadowhunter, Funny, Loyal
Delightful Design –
Audience appeal – Perfect for fans of young adult supernatural, urban fantasy
Your favourite line/scene –
Emma gave a martyred sigh and raised Cortana. “Turn them out, or I’ll start peeling your bark off. My boyfriend and I just broke up, and I’m not in the best mood.”
The faerie began slowly to empty his pockets onto the ground, glaring at her all the while. “So, you’re single,” he said. “I never would have guessed.”
A gasp sounded from above. “Now that is simply rude,” said Cristina, leaning over the edge of the roof.
If you want to join in then answer the F.R.I.D.A.Y questions and use the Friday Favourite meme. Tag me in so I can read what you have added too. Enjoy x
Love the book cover, enjoy the rest of the book.

I wasn’t sure if I should read this book – I thought it was too related to the other series – (which I haven’t read yet and didn’t want to spoil) but now I can happily try it. I have seen the first film but haven’t read the first book I think I’d go straight into the second. Anyway cool recommendation 🙂
