The Sensible Side:

Tell us a little about yourself. (How did you get started writing?)

I had a story churning in my head for a while – it was an adult book, romance, and fantasy.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

Read more fantasy books!

Where did the inspiration for The Adventures of shifting Jack come from?

My son inspired me to write this book. He wanted to know about the adult book I was writing, so I read him the clean and nonviolent parts, when it came to the part of the main charters shifting to a wolf, my sons eyes light up with excitement, I thought Ah I might be onto something here.

His enthusiasm and excitement prompted me to write this book for him

What do you like the most about writing for children?

Their innocence

Can you give us a brief excerpt?

Sweat broke out over his body, and he could feel goose bumps. He looked down at his arms, and they had become hairy and dark brown! He slumped back down to the ground unable to lift them. He held Lily’s hand and noticed that on his hand, his nails were long and yellow. What was happening to him? Jack was really, really scared. He looked at Lily; her pain seemed forgotten, and she looked at him in wonder.

Which is more important to you – plot or characters, and why?

Both, as one can’t work without the other.
