Meet Pauline Tait

Based in Perthshire, Scotland, Pauline has enjoyed three distinct careers. Firstly, as a

Pharmaceutical Technician, a job she enjoyed for over twenty years, before retraining to work in Primary Literacy Support.

It was while working in the Royal School of Dunkeld that Pauline decided to polish a manuscript she had first penned almost twenty years before. Publication of The Fairy in the

Kettle, now a trilogy and selling around the world, then led to Pauline leaving the school to focus on writing full time.

Pauline enjoys writing in two genres, Children’s Picture Books and Romantic Suspense. Her children’s writing allows her to focus on a profound passion, encouraging and inspiring our younger generations to become great readers. While Romantic Suspense allows Pauline to transport her readers to stunning destinations with topics close to her heart.

Her latest publication, Abigail Returns is set on the Isle of Skye, an island that has played a big part in both her and her families lives for over three hundred years.

Having developed a love for the island and its people and having visited annually with her family for over twenty years, Pauline has only recently discovered her ancestry can be traced back to locations she has returned to year after year during these two decades.

Married, with two grown up children and two Jackadoodles, Pauline is currently working on the second book in her Romantic Suspense series.

Blurb for Abigail Returns

With just over a decade missing to Dissociative Amnesia, and a newly broken heart, Abigail finds herself with no choice but to return to Lochside. The supposedly idyllic home on the Isle of Skye she had fled so dramatically six years before.

And while struggling to find her way in a world she can’t recall, she must battle the conflicts of the present with the shocking secrets she uncovers from her past.

Jamie’s support is invaluable, but how much does he know? Greg is loving and attentive, but does he have an ulterior motive?

Meanwhile, the presence of a stranger on the island shakes Abigail to her very core. With no memory, she can only trust her instincts as she strives to build a life and a future she can call her own.

But Abigail soon discovers the stranger’s trail leads far too close to home.

A riveting novel about new beginnings and second chances.

  1. Abigail Returns sounds like an intriguing read, especially with its setting on the Isle of Skye. The combination of Dissociative Amnesia, broken hearts, and shocking secrets promises an engaging storyline. Have you read any other books by Pauline Tait? If you could visit any location mentioned in the book, where would it be and why? What draws you to stories about new beginnings and second chances?

  2. In “A Journey Back Home,” the author takes readers on an emotional rollercoaster through the life of Abigail, a woman grappling with both lost memories and a shattered heart. The description alone is enough to pique anyone’s interest, promising a tale of self-discovery and healing in a beautifully depicted setting—the Isle of Skye.
