Tarnya Coley is a personal development coach, bestselling author of Open Doors, a Publisher with TC Publishing, and an associate of freelance writers.

Tell us a little about yourself. (How did you get started writing? What do you do when you’re not writing?)
I am married with two teenage children. I was a lecturer for 15 years. In 2018 I wrote my bestselling book Open Doors. In the summer, 2018 I left my job to pursue my purpose. I am now a personal development coach helping women to achieve their goals and take action on what they really want.
Is this your first book? How many books have you written prior (if any?)
This is my fourth publication. All my books are available on Amazon
What genre is it, and what is it about?
Self help. Overcoming challenges and achieving what you want. I help readers gain clarity and give them the steps on how to achieve their goals
What or who inspired you to write this book?
I have always loved writing, but never pursued it. The negative committee in mind told me that I could never do that. I had to challenge my never and step out of my comfort zone.
What writing advice do you have for other aspiring authors?
The advice I could give is to, just do it. Many people go to the grave with regrets. Be the person that will get their book out of their head and write. Your story is not for you. It is to inspire and motivate others. Spend a minimum of 20 mins each day writing. Include it in your morning routine. Have a framework for your writing, what are you writing about, what will the different chapters include. Brainstorm your book. This will eliminate writer’s block.
What do you enjoy most about writing and why?
I enjoy give people advice. It is a stepping stone to their breakthrough. I love to encourage others, that I was once in a place where I felt stuck. And this is how I overcame.
List three interesting facts about yourself
- I was in a singing girl band
- I was goal attack for the school netball team
- I discovered I had a brother when I was 40 years old
What is your least favourite part of the publishing/writing process?
The worst part is when the writing doesn’t flow. I have to leave it for a day or do, then go back to it.
What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?
Readers can apply to tools they read. The most important thing is to take immediate action to see positive results in their life.
What is your next project?
I am running a FREE 5-day Master your mind challenge, 10-14th May
