The Fun Five:

What part of the world do you come from?

I’m on the third planet from the sun, in the Western Hemisphere, North American Continent, born in the Mitten (Michigan), currently reside on the largest island on the east coast off the South Carolina mainland.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was in second grade and I made it a goal. I taught 28 ½  years Kindergarten through eighth grade special education and remedial classes at the local community college. I also taught remedial reading at a university for a semester.

List three words to describe yourself.

Reclusive, creative, quirky

Who would play you in a film about your life?

I’m not sure. Mostly because I don’t ever see a movie about my life being produced.

Do you have any unique talents or hobbies?

I love interior design, but do it only in my own home. I crochet most of what I make is given away, although I’ve been told I could sell it.

The Sensible Six:

What inspired you to write your first book?

I always wanted to write a novel. I have a teacher tell me with my imagination, he’d see me in books one day. I believed him.

Give us the title and genre of your latest book and a brief tagline.

Escape is my latest book and is a novella spin-off of the third novel in the Macy McVannel series Sanctuary.  A tagline for Escape is Break the silence hidden behind closed doors.

You have a wide selection of books, novellas, anthologies and poetry to your name, do you have a favourite?

I think Of Moonbeams and Fairies Collected Tales is my favorite. It was my first attempt at children’s literature and was a smashing success. It is the first book I’ve written to be sold internationally and the one I have most requests for more.

You write thriller and suspense books, what interested you in writing for this genre?

I like puzzles. I grew up watching Charlie Chan solve mysteries, and Sherlock Holmes. I love reading mystery/thriller books. Mysteries present a puzzle you have to unravel. I believe there is no straight path to solving a mystery and sometimes it is trial and error or different directions to go to get to the end.

What can we expect from you in the future?

Book four in the Macy series is in the works and book five keeps trying to escape my head. I’d like to work on some more childrens’ books. I have a series planned based on a childhood event which is near and dear to my heart. More fairy tales for sure.

How can we contact you or find out more about your books?

All my books are on Amazon. If you’d like to contact me you can use my email address rebeckavigus@gmail.com or @RebeckaVigus on Twitter. I’m open for questions or book talks, I even do writing workshops.
